How to restore hair loss | Low level laser hair re-growth treatment

Low level hair re-growth treatment

Alopecia can be caused by many factors from genetics to the environment. While androgenic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness, AGA for short) is by far the most common form of hair loss.Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is a derivative or by-product of testosterone. Testosterone converts to DHT with the aid of the enzyme Type II 5-alpha-reductace, which is held in the hair follicle’s oil glands. DHT shrinks hair follicles. Hair grows for shorter periods, becomes lighter, finer and smaller, until it eventually reaches the vellus stage. Vellus hair is light-colored, short, thin and very fine hair and is sometimes referred to as peach fuzz or bum fluff.

Laser researcher Dr. J. Layton Wright states: … “Laser Hair Therapy increases microcirculation of the hair follicle, which allows nutrients and freshly oxygenated blood to access the hair follicle with the results being a stimulation of the natural hair growth cycle.”

Hair Anatomy

The most important part of the hair follicle is the dermal papilla (papilla of hair), which is responsible for the growth of hair. The dermal papilla cells divide and differentiate to form new hair follicles. The papilla is in direct contact with the skin’s blood capillaries, from which it gets its essential nutrients for proper hair follicle growth. The dermal papilla has a large number of androgen receptors (more in males than females).Hair has two distinct structures – the follicle which resides in the skin, and shaft, which is visible above the scalp.

The hair follicle is a tunnel-like segment of the epidermis that extends down into the dermis.

At the base of the follicle is the papilla, which contains capillaries, or tiny blood vessels that nourish the cells.
The living part of the hair is the very bottom part surrounding the papilla, called the bulb.

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) uses 240 pieces of 670nm light-emitting diode cold lasers to alter cellular function. Our Laser Hair re-growth machine is proven to be very effective in penetrating the skin to accelerate hair growth and thicken the hair in the treated areas.Men and women of all ages, skin and hair colour sits comfortably under the lasers as it gently delivers the phototherapy to the scalp. Treatment is painfree and non-invasive. Some clients report a slight tingling of the scalp.

Hair follicles have resting and growing phases – low level laser helps to increase the growing phases.

The visible red light penetrates into the tissue without harming the skin and scalp. The therapeutic light-energy is absorbed by the cells and the process of cell repair begins. This stimulates the production of energy at the cellular level which improves cell function.

It is believed that LLLT increases blood flow to the treated area. European studies have shown that LLLT stops hair loss in 85% of cases and stimulates new hair growth in 55% of cases.
